Simple and convenient hand therapy from the comfort of home.

The pain caused by hand and wrist injuries goes beyond physical.

Living with hand and wrist pain can be an everyday nightmare.

You don't need the added pain of jumping over hurdles as you navigate your options for injury rehabilitation. My online hand therapy consultations via telehealth video call are simple and convenient. I treat you from the comfort of your own home or office, so you don’t have to worry about:

  • Finding expert care near you

  • Battling traffic and finding parking

  • Wasting time in a waiting room

  • Travelling long distances for the right therapist.

Those are unnecessary obstacles that can be avoided.

Because your hand therapy consultation should be the easiest part of your injury rehabilitation.

Hi, I’m Vanessa

I'm an Accredited Hand Therapist and it's my mission to make hand therapy simple, convenient and achievable.

I'm also a mentor, lecturer, medicolegal writer, wife, mother, globetrotter, caring human and committed health professional. I provide virtual hand therapy consultations via video call from the comfort and convenience of your home or office.

Hand and wrist injuries can cause a world of pain.

And I know that pain extends beyond the physical. Being unable to do the things you love can be just as painful. I've treated thousands of patients. Golfers, tennis players, yoga devotees, mountain bikers, potters, weightlifters, fitness fanatics, chefs, artists, carpenters, electricians, parents. And while their injuries and causes are vastly different, they all have one thing in common – a desire to get back to doing the things they love.  The best possible outcome is different for everyone.

To understand what it might look like for you, we will talk about how your life has been impacted, and what you want to get back to.

Focused

My virtual hand therapy consultations are not an add-on to an existing clinical service.  I am 100% focused on virtual treatment and I know how to get the best outcome possible without you needing to leave home.

Caring

In my 30 years as a hand therapist, I've repeatedly seen and felt the heartbreak that hand and wrist injuries cause when patients can no longer do the things they love. I am invested in getting to know you, because truly understanding what matters to you is crucial to achieving your best possible outcome.

Committed

I don't just hand over your program and then forget about you.  After our appointment I'll follow up with you to make sure the exercises are working for you and you're feeling like you're on the road to recovery.

How virtual hand therapy works

The foundation of good hand therapy is taking control of your own injury and rehabilitation. It's not a "hands on" treatment, which is why virtual care is no different to in-person consultations.

My job is to give you the education, advice and encouragement you need to take control of your own rehabilitation and work towards your recovery. And I can do all of this without you needing to leave your home or office.

Who it’s for

If you're wondering whether virtual hand therapy is for you, I can help with:

  • Sports and leisure-related injuries

  • Injuries and pain that prevents you from completing job duties

  • Struggles with everyday activities like cooking, driving, and basic self-care

  • Therapy as part of a return to work program

  • Traffic accident rehabilitation

  • Anyone who struggles to get to a clinic or just doesn't want to go to one.

Appointments via video call are really no different to in-person appointments. You can still show me your range of motion and explain what's causing you pain and discomfort. And I can still assess your level of pain, where it is likely coming from, and create a clear plan to help with comfort, dexterity and independence.

“From my first consultation with Vanessa I felt reassured and trusted that together we could work to improve my situation. The video consults are excellent and very convenient for a busy person like myself. The follow up emails are so useful and serve as a reminder of what I should or should not be doing. I love Vanessa’s gentle manner and thoroughness – her caring nature and reassurance is invaluable.
